APT’s proprietary fuel is being used in conjunction with the Technology Advancement Program, an initiative of the San Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan, a joint initiative between the Port of Long Beach and the Port of Los Angeles.

The results generated by a an independent diesel engine emissions lab in California, Olson EcoLogic Engine Testing Laboratories include the mitigation of the 5% increase in oxides of nitrogen (NOx) created by a B-20 biodiesel baseline; an improvement of the particulate matter (PM) reduction associated with the same B20 biodiesel to nearly 30%; and the reduction the total hydrocarbon (THC) emissions by 5%.

Bill Hagstrand, vice president of APT North America, said: “We are pleased with these results and expect them to propel our efforts in demonstrating the wide applicability of our emulsified biodiesel to the various regulatory bodies covering transportation fuels in a full range of on and off-road applications.”
