Aramex, which aspires to be a carbon neutral company, will utilize the battery operated scooters to reduce its carbon footprint globally and to bring an environmentally-friendly fleet into its operations in India.
The introduction of the battery operated scooters complements Aramex’s long term goal of migrating 78% of its fleet to low emission vehicles, reducing its fuel consumption by 21%, and converting all Aramex vehicles to unleaded fuel.
Aramex country head (India) Percy Avary said that switching over to battery operated scooters within Mumbai is a pilot project the company plans to expand at a later stage, demonstrating its commitment to extending its corporate citizenship through its dedicated environmental initiatives.
