The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The two companies have also decided to negotiate a medium to long-term framework agreement on the production of fuel elements that expands the partnership between AREVA and EDF in the supply of nuclear fuel, AREVA said.
The agreement signed and the one currently under negotiation provides AREVA with a clearer picture of its future production program.
AREVA stated the deliveries will include the new M5 alloy which offers an increase in the performance and reliability of assemblies.
