German utilities RWE and E.ON together own 33% of Urenco have asked Merrill Lynch to seek a buyer of their stake.
Areva has asked Nomura bank to look into acquiring a stake.
The British government and the Netherlands also hold a third each of Urenco.
However, the British government has been seeking a buyer for its stake since 2009.
The Dutch state is being advised by Credit Suisse about its 33% stake, reports Reuters.
