For the Power Grid substations, the company would manufacture the extra high voltage (765 kV) equipment at its three recently inaugurated manufacturing sites in India, which were built mainly to manufacture Extra High Voltage Transmission Products.

Michel Augonnet, executive vice president for AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution Systems business unit, said: We will continue to be actively involved in Power Grid’s plans to enhance its transmission capacities by developing its extra and ultra high voltage transmission networks.

During 2007, India’s first substation for the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) at SIPAT, Chhattisgarh was supplied by AREVA. AREVA T&D India has received six 765 kV substation projects so far in India.
