Modules integration is expected to allow the factory to utilize solar power utilizing Ascent’s copper-indium-gallium-diselenide technology to deliver the highest power density available on thin-film plastic substrates.

Ascent Solar president and chief executive Victor Lee said the firm will provide its lightweight, durable, flexible thin-film solar modules at Foxconn’s new factory.

According to the company, its modules are flexible and lightweight allowing them to be integrated easily into the building structure.

"We plan to demonstrate the value of our technology and we hope to build a long term relationship with Foxconn," Lee added.
