The Colley Road-Brick Church rebuild project also includes construction of the new Tiger substation near Clinton, Wisconsin.

ATC has filed an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin seeking a permit for the project.

According to the company, the project will comprise stringing new wires and replacing aging wood transmission poles with new steel poles. The new route would be similar to the old route, with minor adjustments for efficiency, ATC said.

The new substation will be built on approximately ten acres of land owned by ATC near Clinton.

The rebuild of transmission line will cost around $40m and construction is expected to begin in late 2015. The project will come online by 2018.

ATC senior local relations representative Jon Callaway said, "The project is needed to replace aging infrastructure, as much of the existing line is more than 60 years old.

"It also will help ensure electric reliability in the area by relieving potential system constraints due to projected load growth."
