The company secured approval to build the $219m project from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin in June 2009.
Construction of the 32-mile, 345kV power line project will begin from east to west in mid-August and the transmission line is expected to begin operation in 2013.
The new line will be built through Dane County between the towns of Christiana and Middleton along a route that generally follows the Beltline and existing rights-of-way, ATC said.
