Under the contract, Atkins will prepare a fire hazards analysis, including a thorough review of plant documentation and on-site inspections to identify fire hazards and determine consequences in relation to site nuclear safety goals and radioactivity release to the environment.
Work also includes providing recommendations for fire prevention, fire detection, fire suppression, and fire containment.
TEPCO will use Atkins’ Graphical Logic Analysis Support Software (Glass) software package to make critical decisions on the plant safety by improving speed, accuracy and transparency.
GLASS is designed to provide a data capturing platform to support safety analysis of power plants.
