Atmos Energy, engaged in distribution, transmission and storage of natural gas, has reported a net income of $76 million, or $0.83 per diluted share for the first quarter ended December 31, 2008, compared to $73.8 million, or $0.82 per diluted share, for the same period of 2007.
Atmos Energy has reported natural gas distribution gross profit of $298.4 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2009, compared to $273.2 million for the same quarter of fiscal 2008, before inter-segment eliminations.
The energy company has reported regulated transmission and storage gross profit of $54.7 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2009, compared to $45 million for the same quarter of fiscal 2008, before inter-segment eliminations. Similarly nonregulated operations contributed $18.2 million of net income in the fiscal 2009 first quarter, or $0.20 per diluted share, compared with $23.8 million of net income or $0.26 per diluted share for the same period last year.
Atmos Energy has reported natural gas marketing gross profit of $30 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2009, compared to $46 million for the same period of fiscal 2008, before inter-segment eliminations.
For the three months ended December 31, 2008, the company has reported pipeline, storage and other gross profit of $12.5 million, compared to $6 million same period of fiscal 2008, before inter-segment eliminations.
