Located within the Bea Mountain mining license, the prospect covers a total license area of 546km² and is also Liberia’s first commercial gold mine.
Aureus CEO David Reading commented that the environmental permit and the 25 year mining license enables the company to commence constructtion at the New Liberty mine.
"As per the feasibility study published on 1 October, the Company has a clearly defined work programme to be carried out before the commencement of construction.
This includes optimising the plant, conducting metallurgical testing, preparing detailed engineering designs and the diversion of the creek," Reading added.
