The projects have been awarded in a recent auction called by the state-owned NTPC under the National Solar Mission policy.
Around ten companies took part in the online reverse auction. Of them, Azure Power secured 100MW of the total 150MW capacity auctioned off by NTPC.
The tariff on the project will be Rs. 5.12/ kWh, which is approximately 11% more than the first two auctions in the Andhra Pradesh solar park. These two auctions were won by Sun Edison and Soft Bank at a tariff of Rs. 4.63/ kWh.
This auction of 150MW capacity was set for projects that make use of solar cells and modules, which are manufactured in India.
Azure Power founder and chief executive officer Inderpreet Wadhwa said: "With this win, we have once again demonstrated our strong project development capabilities.
"We are proud to have successfully brought down the cost of solar power by almost 71% from INR 17.91 /kWh in 2009 to INR 5.12/kWh in this project."
In June, Azure Power had commissioned a 100MW plant, under National Solar Mission, in Rajasthan.
Recently, the company also had secured 150MW capacity in an auction held in the state of Punjab.
In February, the company commissioned a solar power plant in the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP), the first large scale solar plant constructed in the state under the UP solar policy.
