The projects totaled $6m and will address complex energy and environmental challenges related to production and use of fossil fuels.
Battelle’s energy, environment and material sciences global business president Marty Toomajian elaborated that thus far the company had executed $100m worth carbon capture and storage field programs.
"These new awards illustrate our continued success in this area.
"In addition, most of these projects involve unique public-private partnerships — these government research projects develop technologies that without Federal funding may not be developed," said Toomajian.
Some of the projects awarded to Battelle include – Addressing Subsurface Brine Disposal; Carbon Dioxide Utilization and Storage; and CO2 Storage Technology in China.
