The model homes feature spray foam insulation and an array of energy-saving products that combine to make the homes up to 46% more energy efficient than comparably sized houses built to standard code.

The eSMART homes feature low-e windows, HVAC systems, home energy monitors, tankless water heaters, energy star appliances, programmable thermostats and compact fluorescent light bulbs.

Additionally, to help conserve water, the homes feature manifold plumbing systems, dual-flush toilets, water-saving faucets and showerheads and regionally-appropriate plants. Air filters, fresh-air ventilated ducts, low volatile organic compound emissions paints, and Nylon recyclable carpets are included to address indoor air quality.

Martin Hernandez, vice president of sales for Beazer Homes in Phoenix, said: “Our eSMART Green homes are designed to maximize savings while minimizing the overall environmental impact of building and maintaining a home.

“In developing this new series, our planning and design has taken a systems approach to ensure all of the multiple components work together for optimal performance. We’ve built in greater efficiency from the ground up which results in lower operating costs for our homeowners.”
