This decision follows the recent collaboration by the two companies to sell Belectric’s 30MW project to Constellation Energy in the Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s feed-in tariff program.
The main focus of the joint venture is to develop multi-MW utility-grade PV power plants in the United States.
The companies also plan to develop projects on a greenfield basis as well as through project acquisitions from qualified developers.
Belectric COO and president David Taggart stated that the joint venture will enable the development of more projects at a faster rate and offer a path forward to true price parity with fossil fuel power plants.
