The British natural gas company will supply LNG from its Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) facility on the Curtis island in Australia and from its global LNG portfolio.

QGC, BG Group’s Australian subsidiary, is now developing the QCLNG facility to liquefy and export coal seam gas from the Surat basin in Queensland.

The LNG facility is expected to commence operations by 2014.

Tokyo Gas will also hold a 1.25% equity interest in the reserves and resources of certain BG Group tenements in the Walloons Fairway of the Surat Basin as well as a 2.5% interest in the second LNG train of the QCLNG project.
