The company has commissioned the first three units at Parbati III HEP, located near village Bihali on the left bank of river Sainj, in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, in February and March 2014.

The company’s work for the project included supply and installation of four 130MW Francis turbines, static excitation system, main inlet valves, digital governors, state-of-the-art control & monitoring system (SCADA), associated station auxiliaries, Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and electrical & mechanical Balance of Plant (BoP).

Currently, BHEL is executing Hydro power projects, which are at various stages of implementation, of around 5,000MW.

The company’s another hydro project at Rampur in Himachal Pradesh, is in an advanced stage of commissioning.

The company is also executing three more hydro projects of NHPC including 3x110MW Kishanganga HEP in J&K, 4x40MW Teesta Low Dam IV HEP in West Bengal and 4x200MW Parbati II in Himachal Pradesh.
