Till date, the company has delivered eight units with a total capacity of 2,840MW, for the Chandrapur STPP.

The plant is owned and operated by the state-owned Maharashtra State Power Generation (MahaGenco).

Bhel is currently working on the second 500MW unit of Stage-III project and is scheduled to commission it in financial year 2015-16.

The company is responsible for designing, engineering, manufacturing, supplying, installing and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers as well as associated auxiliaries.

The company will also supply controls and instrumentation (C&I) and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) for the project.

Bhel has supplied more than 15,000MW of generating capacity to Maharashtra.
