The move is a part of the company’s plans to tap business opportunities in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region.

Under terms of the MoU signed with the national power utility of Kazakhstan JSC Samruk Energy, the two firms will work together on the projects of mutual interest. JSC Samruk Energy has major share in Kazakhstan’s power sector.

An MoU was also signed with utility company KUS for comprehensive co-operation in the energy sector for design and construction of power plants and combined heat and power plants (CHP).

Another MoU with Kaznex Invest deals with cooperation in implementing projects. Kaznex Invest is the national export and investment agency of Kazakhstan working under the Kazakhstan Investments and Development Ministry.

Within CIS region, Bhel has executed orders in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. The company recently constructed and commissioned the Grodno combined heat & power plant-2 in Belarus, reported the Business Standard.
