The order was placed by Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corp (APGenco) for the coal-based thermal power unit planned to be set up at Rayalaseema in the Kadapa district of the state.
BHEL’s scope of work in the latest contract envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers, among others.
The company said it previously supplied all the 19 thermal units with a cumulative capacity of 4,250MW, which are presently operating at APGenco’s power stations.
