The gas turbine-based combined cycle power plant will meet the power and process steam requirement of the upcoming grassroot refinery and is slated for commissioning by November, 2012.

BHEL’s scope of work in the project envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the captive power plant, in addition to associated civil works.

Major equipment to be supplied includes three Frame 9 gas turbine generators, three heat recovery steam generators of 220TPH each, two steam turbine generators of 30MW each, four utility boilers of 300TPH each, transformers, gas insulated switchgear and associated balance of plant.

The equiment for the project will be supplied by BHEL’s plants at Hyderabad, Trichy, Ranipet, Bhopal, Jhansi and electronics division, Bangalore. Civil works and erection and commissioning of the power plant will be carried out by the company’s Power Sector – Southern Region.
