BioteQ said it will design, install and operate the pilot plant, while the customer is responsible for the capital cost of the plant. The work is presently underway, and is expected to be complete during 2010.

Brad Marchant, chief executive officer of BioteQ, said: “This project is the first of two pilot plants we have set as goals for 2010, and we are aggressively pursuing additional new projects for our business development pipeline.”

The customer has the option to expand the scope of services to include design and construction of a full-scale plant upon the completion of pilot operations, under a design-supply-transfer business model.

As per the model, BioteQ will provide fee-based design, procurement, and commissioning services, as well as ongoing technical support to the full scale plant, and the customer will own and operate the plant, which will be similar in scale to BioteQ’s operation in Arizona.
