Under the terms of the sale agreement, Blue Energy will be responsible for launching and managing the community investment funds associated with each project.

SSE wholesale managing director Martin Pibworth said: "The sale represents the next step, following the recent sale of Langhope Rig wind farm, in a program of disposals to recycle capital and optimize our wind farm pipeline."

The 23MW Cour is located approximately 30km north of Campbeltown and 21km south of Tarbert in Argyll and Bute.

The Whiteside Hill and Blackcraig wind projects are situated in Dumfries and Galloway, respectively.

SSE intends to use the transaction proceeds for future investments in new renewable energy assets.

Blue Energy CEO Chris Dean said: "This major strategic investment expands our UK wind farm portfolio to over 260 MW and emphasizes our confidence in and commitment to the UK renewable energy sector."

SSE focuses in producing, distributing and supplying electricity and gas as well as provides other energy-related services.
