The Fulton project, which will be constructed within an industrial park controlled under a long term lease with Itawamba County, will allow BlueFire to utilize wood wastes available in the region as feedstock to produce approximately 19 million gallons of ethanol per year.

BlueFire Renewables has appointed Mastec, a contractor for utilities and governments throughout the US, to provide the engineering, procurement and construction services for the ethanol production facility that is estimated to create 70 jobs at the site.

BlueFire has joined forces with the Itawamba County and the City of Fulton, to commence work on the initial activities of clearing, rough grading and drainage improvements at the site under a contract with Century Construction, a Mississippi based contractor, to build the facility.

BlueFire Renewables CEO Arnold Klann said that the findings and conclusions of the permits issued are reflective of BlueFire’s approach to develop, construct and operate domestic fuel production facilities that meet applicable regulations with no significant impacts to the environment.
