The company said that, since opening a New England office in July 2007, it has experienced significant growth, installing more than 50 residential, commercial and public-sector solar electric systems throughout the region.

Borrego Solar’s 50 regional installations reportedly offset 2.4 million pounds of CO2 emissions, the equivalent of planting nearly 1,000 acres of trees.

Chris Anderson, COO of Borrego Solar, said: Our growth in New England has been fueled by increasing demand for sustainable alternatives to traditional energy, and we anticipate continued success as we expand into Connecticut.
