The extension is pertaining to the memorandum of agreement signed by Botswana Diamonds and an anonymous South African company that allotted Botswana with three months exclusivity period to evaluate the licenses it is planning to acquire.

The South African company owns 85% stake in the 13 diamond mining licenses.

With this new provision, the time period is extended to until 14 June 2013 with joint venture partner expecting the results of study by
May-end.

Commenting on the developments, Botswana Diamonds chairman John Teeling said that the company is pleased with the extension that its South African partner has granted it.

"Our results so far are exciting but diamond exploration is high risk, so we have requested this extension to enable additional work
be undertaken by the multinational partner working with us in Orapa. Our partner is using its unique technology to evaluate and corroborate our findings," added Teeling.
