The MC252 well has been shut down since July 15 after the oil spill incident early this year.

The cementing operations were completed on the affected well on 5 August and pressure testing performed indicating there is an effective cement plug in the casing, according to the company.

The works completed include removal of capping stack on top of the Deepwater Horizon (DWH) Blow Out Preventer (BOP) on 2 September by the drillship, Discoverer Enterprise.

The DWH BOP was then successfully removed from the MC252 well.

The DDII moved into place with its BOP, which was then successfully installed on top of the MC252 well.
