Reuters cited the union representing workers at the plant as saying that the company may cut oil processing by about 7,000 cubic meters (44,029 barrels) a day if the problem at the 240,000 barrel a day refinery is not rectified.

For about two weeks, internal problems led to the improper functioning of the refinery’s U-1250 unit.

The refinery connects to the Ilha D’Água, Ilha Redonda, Angra dos Reis, Cabiúnas, Campos Elíseos, and Volta Redonda terminals and is interconnected to the Gabriel Passos Refinery in Betim (MG), and to the Henrique Lage Refinery in São José dos Campos.
