The Sand Creek field is a proven and prolific part of the Bakken Shale formation in North Dakota’s McKenzie County.
The company said it plans to drill the initial six Bakken and Three Forks wells during the next 24-36 months.
Breitling CEO Chris Faulkner said the company’s significant acreage position in a prolific area in McKenzie County gives it a considerable competitive advantage in the Bakken and Three Forks formations.
"We believe the Bakken and Three Forks represent a game-changing resource play for the US and will be a major focus of Breitling’s future exploration and production activities," Faulkner said.
