The New York Home Performance with Energy Star new GJGNY legislation that was signed into law in October 2009 requires New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to provide energy efficiency services to residential homes and 1-4 unit residential buildings in the state.
Under this program, BrightHome Energy will provide free energy audits to residential applicants with household incomes less than $209,000 and reduced-cost energy audits to homeowners with incomes up to $418,000.
In addition the GJGNY Residential Loan program will offer unsecured loans up to $13,000 per homeowner at 3.99% interest rate with repayment by check and at 3.49% interest rate with automatic payment from a checking or savings account.
The program also allows homeowners to take advantage of the Home Performance with Energy Star 10% rebate on qualified energy saving measures up to $30,000.
