BRIL has an option to extend the three-year contract twice by two years.

Under the contract, BRIL will provide all the onshore and offshore support functions for Centrica’s both remote operated vehicles (ROV’s) and diving support vessels (DSV).

The scope of the work includes full pipeline survey activities, structural inspection, as well as a multitude of intervention, maintenance and repair activities.

BRIL will provide the services across Centrica’s global assets and cover the Northern, Southern, Central and East Irish Sea, as well as Dutch regions, and Trinidad.

Centrica Energy Engineering head Trevor Thomson said the company is securing the future of its assets and maximizing recovery in exploration and production portfolio.

"At Centrica Energy we continue to make significant investments not only in our own people, also the capabilities of our contractors," Thomson added.

"We are looking forward to working with BRIL on new and existing drilling and production campaigns as we target global production of 100mmboe (million barrels of oil equivalent) in the next few years."

The contract, which is expected to start in April 2013, may possibly extend as far as 2020.

BRIL’s Survey, IRM division and Bibby Offshore’s diving services, is expected to create 10 new onshore jobs in Aberdeen and up to 40 offshore jobs.
