Calico as an Energy Star partner will help utilities and building managers measure and track the energy performance of commercial facilities.
It will further develop and implement a plan consistent with Energy Star Energy Management Guidelines to achieve energy savings and support the Energy Star Challenge, a national call-to-action to help improve the energy efficiency of America’s commercial and industrial buildings by 10% or more.
Calico’s Green Certification software – a module in its Energy Intelligence Suite energy management platform is being widely used throughout the US to measure whole building energy usage and submit the building-wide energy usage data to Energy Star Portfolio Manager, the program’s interactive energy management tool.
Green Certification, which is claimed to reduce the time and associated cost required to measure whole building energy usage by more than 95%, is believed to drive widespread commercial adoption of Energy star.
Calico Energy chairman and CEO Brian Dawson said that Energy Star is a critical driver of commercial energy efficiency, since businesses consume more than half of all energy in the US.
