The Quail Brush natural gas-fired power plant will include 11 reciprocating Wartsila engines and the capital investment for the project is expected to be more than $150m.
Electricity generated by the facility will be provided to San Diego Gas & Electric customers.
The plant’s construction, from site preparation and grading to commercial operation, is expected to take place from March 2013 to June 2014.
