Calpine has followed its aggressive campiagn of turbine acquisitions with the announcement that the company has ordered 85 heat recovery steam generators from the Nooter/Eriksen unit of Nooter Corp. The steam generators, a crucial component of combined cycle power stations, are due to begin delivery in 2001 and complete in 2004. Financial terms were not disclosed. The move comes with the announcement that Calpine has secured $2.5 billion in a revolving credit facility that it will use to finance its campaign to boost its generation capacity to 40 GW by the end of 2004.
