The project, located on the Isle of Lameque, is developed, owned and operated by Acciona Energy North America. It consists of 30 turbines and is expected to produce enough energy per year to power 8,000 homes in New Brunswick.
The $1.5bn ecoEnergy for Renewable Power program provides one cent per kWh incentive, with the goal of increasing Canada’s renewable electricity capacity by more than 4,000MW.
Canada’s Economic Action Plan builds on this investment with an additional $2.4bn to support the development and deployment of cleaner energy technologies and supporting infrastructure, including the Clean Energy Fund and the Green Infrastructure Fund.
