The new solar power plant is expected to include around 440,000 Canadian Solar CS6X high performance modules.
Grand Renewable Solar Project is planned to start operations in 2015.
The solar plant is expected to generate around $301m revenue for Canadian Solar, which will offer engineering, procurement and construction services.
The project is financed by Connor Clark & Lunn Infrastructure, while Samsung Renewable Energy will take care of the development.
Canadian Solar chairman and CEO Dr Shawn Qu said that the company has started construction phase of new solar project, with the help of Samsung and Connor Clark & Lunn Infrastructure.
"We are highly confident in our team’s ability to complete this large-scale project on schedule and on budget, while creating new employment opportunities and achieving the optimum power efficiency generation target levels anticipated to be delivered by the project," Qu added.
