This solar project in Hongsibao, Ningxia, includes an 8MW fixed system and a 2MW tracking system.

The project is expected to generate about 13.51 million KWh of electricity and reduce CO2 emissions by 18,900 tons per year.

Ningxia Electric Power funded and constructed the project, a part of a 50MW solar plant, while Canadian Solar’s JV Gaochuangte New Energy served as the EPC contractor.

Canadian Solar chairman and CEO Shawn Qu said that as China continues to evolve into a major PV power market over the next few years, Canadian Solar plans to be a major player in driving such growth.
