The company said construction on the initial projects under terms of the deal will begin by July 2012.

The projects will be delivered under Ontario’s feed-in-tariff program, Canadian Solar said.

Horizon Energy Solutions vice president Scott Knapman said the company is committed to developing sustainable energy solutions which provide long-term benefits using the best equipment available.

Canadian Solar chairman and chief executive officer Shawn Qu said the new agreement builds on the considerable momentum the company has in Canada and the broader global solar energy market.

"We continue to leverage Canadian Solar’s global brand, proven track record and cost effective quality solar solutions as we pursue new growth opportunities in Canada and worldwide," Qu said.

Canadian Solar is an integrated provider of ingots, wafers, solar cells, solar modules and other solar applications.

Canada-based Horizon Energy Solutions is a wholly owned by Horizon Holdings, an investment company is a provider of utility grade renewable energy solutions, metering services and energy management and conservation services.
