The Box Encapsulation Plant Delivery Team (BEPDT), responsible for this project comprise joint venture partners Balfour Beatty, Jacobs Engineering Group and Amec Foster Wheeler.

The Box Encapsulation Plant (BEP) is a significant enabler to the High Hazard Risk Reduction of legacy ponds and silos at Sellafield. When complete the plant will process nuclear waste in preparation for long term storage.

Capula will provide a fully integrated control solution for the BEP facility that will enable essential data from multiple systems to be gathered and presented in a coherent manner to the operator, thus ensuring the safe operation of the plant and facilitating ease of maintenance.

The full control solution is expected to be completed in early 2019, and will enable Sellafield Ltd to maintain the safe operation of the BEP facility once operational in 2021.
