The $500,000 project, which will be funded partially by NCED and partly by Carnegie, will evaluate the integration of desalination technologies with the CETO technology to produce emission-free desalinated freshwater.

Representatives from the Murdoch University (Perth, Australia), NCED and other independent entities engaged in water industry, both local and international, will work on the project to pave the path for the commercial rollout of CETO technology to produce emission-free freshwater.

The Project will be based at NCED headquarters at Rockingham, south of Perth near Carnegie’s Perth Wave Energy Project site off nearby Garden Island.

Dr Michael Ottaviano, managing director and CEO of Carnegie, said: “We see the global desalination market as having enormous potential for our business. Western Australia is recognized globally as a leader in desalination and the ideal location for the NCED.

“Having our initial project located in Western Australia means we are ideally placed to leverage desalination opportunities locally and then export this expertise globally.”
