The new solar option will allow CastleRock homeowners to cut their utility bills and lock in their solar electricity costs in the future, protecting themselves from utility rate increases.

As part of the new program, a 4kW solar array will be installed on interested CastleRock homes less than 2,500sq ft, while larger homes will have 6kW systems.

CastleRock Communities executive vice president/partner Lance Wright said the company has the opportunity to provide its customers with the power to choose what kind of energy they prefer for their new CastleRock home.

"We’re also pleased to offer a new way for our homeowners to save, along with the chance to see how solar works first hand," added Wright.

SolarCity Builder Programs national manager Walter Cuculic said the solar offering will give CastleRock customers greater control over their electricity bills.

"CastleRock homeowners will have the opportunity to use clean, renewable energy for years to come and may be able to count on a stable electricity bill, even if utility rates rise," added Cuculic.
