The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development awarded Cavico a contract values at US$8.5M for a section of the construction work on the irrigation reservoir project.
The contractor is to build a diversion dam and a floor spillway that is 287m long. The construction period is 20 months.
The US$167M project is under construction near Vu Quang village in Ta Tinh province. In addition to flood control mitigation against flows from the Song La river, the scheme is also to have a 20MW hydro power plant built.
