Under the contract, which is valued in excess of $40m, CB&I will be responsible for engineering, procuring, fabrication and field construction of a 22 million standard cubic feet per day hydrogen plant at the refinery in Coffeyville, Kansas.

CB&I Technology operating group president Daniel McCarthy said: "This plant will supply high-purity hydrogen for the refinery’s hydroprocessing needs.

"The plant will utilize our proprietary HYFORMING™ box furnace technology for steam methane reforming, which provides superior process performance and reliable operation. CB&I’s expertise in modular fabrication and supply will help us meet the deadline for this project."

Coffeyville Resources Refining & Marketing, a wholly owned subsidiary of CVR Refining, owns a complex of full coking medium-sour crude oil refinery with a rated capacity of 115,000 barrels per calendar day in Coffeyville, Kansas.
