The company said that the unit will use the Catofin dehydrogenation process to produce 600,000 metric tonnes per annum of propylene, which is a building block used to produce a variety of products including plastics and solvents.

The PDH unit will be the first PDH plant in China and upon start-up in 2012, it will be the largest operating PDH plant in the world, the company claims.
