The company said that energy auditors can determine how carbon dioxide levels fluctuate throughout a building there by indicating occupancy patterns by utilizing Cemtrex CDD 300 tool. This helps them decide whether the building is over-ventilating according to ASHRAE 2007 Standard 62.1 and thus a reduction in energy consumption may be possible by applying demand control ventilation.

The launch of this product comes in line with the US Department of Energy’s increase in funding opportunities for energy auditors. As the effort to increase the nation’s energy efficiency ramps up, federal, state, and local agencies are offering up to 50% compensation in some cases to building owners to have their buildings’ energy consumption audited.

The CDD 300 CO2 Data Logger offers auditors an instrument to identify inefficiencies in the building’s HVAC system, the company said.

Saagar Govil, general manager of green DCV division at Cemtrex, said: “As the number of energy audits increases due to the nationwide emphasis on energy efficiency, we find that very few auditors have the tools to specifically determine whether demand control ventilation is applicable for a particular building.

“Using our Data Logger, an auditor can accurately assess the energy wastage in a commercial building’s HVAC system, and thus determine the potential savings to be realized by installing our Green DCV system.”
