The CTK news agency and daily newspaper Lidove noviny report comments from CEZ welcoming the EU’s determination to create a more integrated cross-border market for power and gas.

We have been supporting liberalization for a long time. Our power prices are the lowest in the region and we can succeed on the west European market, CEZ spokesman Ladislav Kriz was quoted as saying.

CEZ also welcomed the EU’s admission that nuclear energy would have a significant role to play in the region’s future energy mix: Nuclear energy has a future at least in the next fifty years, and we are glad the EC reckons with this, Mr Kriz added.
