CG will deliver the DTC units which can retrieve and store data from the meters and send it to the management system periodically.

CG chief executive and managing director Laurent Demortier said: "We are very excited to partner again with EDP in creating a modern, efficient grid and improve their overall end-user experience."

The contract comes on heels of the deal signed by CG last year to supply EDP with data concentrators for its PRIME Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in Portugal.

EDP Distribuição has so far installed 3000 DTCs within the scope of the InovGrid project, which is designed to introduce AMI improvements in the network to benefit its customers.

The company plans to install 10,000 PRIME DTCs this year.

CG provides ZIV meters, DCUs and distribution automation solutions (DAS).
