The projects will help the company boost its LNG production capacity to approximately 60mtpa by 2025.

As part of the plan, the company will build two liquefaction trains, each with a potential capacity of 4.5mtpa, adjacent to the existing site of the Corpus Christi liquefaction project which will increase its aggregate LNG production capacity to approximately 22.5mtpa.

In partnership with Parallax Enterprises, Cheniere will develop up to 10mtpa LNG production capacity through two mid-scale projects, Live Oak LNG and Louisiana LNG in Louisiana.

The Live Oak LNG and Louisiana LNG are being engineered by Bechtel Oil, Gas, & Chemicals. Each project will have two liquefaction trains with a production capacity of approximately 2.5mtpa.

Cheniere chairman and CEO Charif Souki said: "We expect that these liquefaction trains could be funded from internally generated cash flows, which would allow us to continue to be one of the lowest cost suppliers of LNG in the market and give us more flexibility in terms of contracting and selling volumes on a more tailored basis to meet the individual needs of global LNG buyers."

The company expects the projects to enter construction phase as early as 2017, upon securing regulatory approvals and reaching final investment decisions. The projects are planned to commence production as early as 2021.
