The move comes after Duke Energy signed a preliminary agreement with China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group to cooperate in nuclear-power investment and operations, as well as clean energy.

China Power chairman Lu Qizhou did not provide any details of the agreement.

US-based electric utility, Duke Energy has been partnering with Chinese power producers to commercialize clean-energy technologies.

Duke Energy has signed a three-year agreement with China Huaneng Group to expand research cooperation in advanced coal and carbon capture technologies in last February.
