Spud on 19 May 2014, the well has been drilled to a total depth of 1,263m and found gas at three levels within the target areas.

Located within the western central area of the Sebou Permit, about 3.2km to the south west of the main gas gathering station, the well’s three gas-bearing zones presence has been confirmed by wireline logging and subsequent pressure testing in the six inch hole confirmed permeable high pressure reservoirs.

The net pay totals 15m across the three reservoir zones of which 6m is in the Top Guebbas, 6m in the Intra Guebbas, which is the main target, and another 3m in the lower part of the Intra Guebbas.

Circle Oil CEO Chris Green said, "This is the first well of a six well programme to be drilled with our partner ONHYM in the Sebou permit and is coupled with another six well programme in the Lalla Mimouna permit."

Currently, the company has assets in the Rharb Basin, Morocco, the Ras Marmour Permit in southern Tunisia, the Mahdia Permit offshore Tunisia, and the Zeit Bay area of Egypt.
